Including multi-year catch-up - with the footing check that proves the conversion is right.
A Faire payout export is an order ledger, not a settlement summary. Each row is one wholesale order: gross merchandise value, Faire's commission (which differs between a retailer's first order and their reorders), and a payment processing fee. Nothing in the file tells you which orders funded which bank deposit, and commission is expressed per order while your bank sees one lump every payout cycle. Bookkeepers typically resort to pivot tables and a calculator, which works until a payout contains a partial retailer return and the column totals stop meaning anything.
| Report line | Books category |
|---|---|
| Gross order value | Sales |
| Faire commission (15-25% by tier) | Platform fees |
| Payment processing fee | Platform fees |
| Retailer return (negative gross) | Refunds |
Faire lets you export order history going back years, so a multi-year catch-up is a per-file exercise: each month's or year's export converts independently under the same footing rules. Because no dedicated Faire conversion tool exists, most sellers coming to this have never had these books reconcile - expect the first conversion to surface commission lines that were previously booked as sales.
QuickBooks bank feeds want one line per money movement against a deposit, so FootingKit summarizes each payout into category lines dated to the deposit date; order-level detail stays in the reconciliation report, out of your register.
Xero statement imports work best when each payout arrives as a small set of coded lines, so FootingKit groups by payout and carries the payout id in the Reference field - bank rules handle the recurring coding from the second month on.
Yes - opening-order and reorder commission rates are read per row from your export, so each order's fee equals what Faire actually charged.
Payout grouping follows the payout id and payout date columns in the export, so terms orders land in the settlement they were actually paid in, not the order date.
